Coalition for 21st Century Patent Reform:
Protecting Innovation to Enhance American Competitiveness

The Coalition for 21st Century Patent Reform is a broad and diverse group of nearly 50 global corporations including 3M, Caterpillar Inc., General Electric, Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson. For more than 100 years, we have played a critical role in fostering innovation. Annually, we invest billions of dollars on research and development to create jobs and improve lives.

Representing 18 different industry sectors including manufacturing, information technology, consumer products, energy, financial services, medical device, pharmaceutical, and bio-technology, we are advocating for patent reforms that will continue to foster innovation and enhance American competitiveness.

We look forward to working with the Congress and others on this needed legislation and view the National Academy of Sciences Report on the patent system as a thoughtful and balanced roadmap for reform.

We hope to serve as an important resource as Congress looks to improve our patent system and better prepare the United States for the competitive challenges we face in the 21st Century.
